nokia-n97-buying-guide-1Feature to talk

1)  Keep in Touch: Phonebook

Pick a smartphone with a large phonebook capacity between 300 to 500 preferably. And make sure your smartphone stores addresses, email addresses, and other essential information. Nokia N97 has unlimited entries and fields. Plus, it also has Photocall.

2)  Size Matters: Screen Size

Most smartphone screen sizes range from two to three inches. A bigger screen means a bigger phone, but pick a screen you can easily see. If you buy a smartphone with a touch screen, make sure you can use it without feeling like you’re playing the board game Operation. For Nokia N97,it has TFT resistive touchscreen, 16M colors with the screen size 360 x 640 pixels, 3.5 inches

3)  Walkie and Talkie: Battery Life

Cell phone battery life is measured in two ways actually. They are ’standby time’ (when your cell phone is idle) and ‘talk time’ (when you’re using your phone). Pick a smartphone with at least a four-hour talk time. This should last you most workdays. For Nokia N97, it can go up to 9 h 30 min (2G) and up to 6 h (3G) talktime. Thats long.

4)  Systemizing 101: Organizer Functions

Smartphones aren’t just cell phones. They’re day-planners, personal reminders, web browsers and more. Smartphone features seem endless but aren’t all the same. You can pick a smartphone with functions beneficial to you, like an alarm clock, calculator, calendar, instant messenger, picture messenger, to-do list or voice recorder for example. For Nokia N97, it has SMS, MMS, Email, Push Email, IM, RSS feeds, detailed contact information, calendar, to-do list, notes, recorder, calculator, clock and converter.

nokia-n97Features to Mention

1)  Brain Power: Cell Phone Memory

Smartphones come with limited memory (internal or on a memory card) for storing photos, videos, music and voice memos. But contact information is stored separately. For Nokia N97, it has internal 32 GB storage, 128 MB RAM and for external storage, Nokia N97 use microSD (TransFlash), up to 16GB.

2)  Making Music: Digital Players

Digital players support and play MP3s on your smartphone. You can download songs for ringtones, but you probably won’t give up your separate MP3 player. Don’t buy a smartphone just for the digital player. For Nokia N97, MP3, AAC, eAAC+ and WMA audio files can be played, but only MPEG4 or 3GP video files are supported.

3)  Big and Bulky: Cell Phone Dimensions

For most people, cell phone choice comes down to aesthetics—style, color and size. But because of keyboards, touch screens and other features, smartphones are inherently bulkier than standard cell phones. That’s just the way it is. So pick function over form. You’ll want a phone that’s convenient to carry around, but don’t sacrifice features for size. Just to mention, Nokia N97 form is side-slide with tilting screen, has 88 cc with dimension of 117.2 x 55.3 x 15.9 mm (18.25 mm at thickest point) and 150 g weight with the battery on it.

4)  Capture the Moment: Camera Resolution

Cell phone cameras don’t hold up to digital cameras. Unless you photograph regularly for business (once again, like with real estate properties), don’t stress camera resolution. Nokia N97 has 5.0 megapixel (2584 x 1938 pixels) camera with Carl Zeiss optics. It can still image file format JPEG/EXIF, auto focus + dual LED flash, can zoom Up to 4x (digital). It also features secondary camera for video calls, QCIF (176 x 144 pixels).

In Conclusion

Buying a smartphone is a smart move to stay connected. From emails to instant messaging, smartphones boast the features you need to conduct business in the office and on the road. Don’t be fooled by the mantra of today’s gadgetry: “The more features the better!” Some features are worth talking about while others worth just mentioning. The only online reviews   that we recommended you to look is CNET.com which rate Nokia N97 7 out of 10 and testfreaks.com that has give Nokia N97 9.4 out of 10.
